Effect of ingested fat on Blood coagulation.

Abstract
In part ¥°&¥± of this article, reported previously, accelerating action of ingested fat on blood coagulation was observed as well in the R, E. S. blocked, adrenalectomyzed and intoxicated rabbits with CCl4i and in the rabbits with external fistula of common bile duct except in those with out-fistula of the thoracic duct as in normal rabbits.
From those results, the accelerating action of ingested fat on blood coagulation
is assumed to be a direct one on clotting elements or clotting phases, . This experiment was intended to confirm the acting mechanisms. Materials and methods
The animals and the determination of clotting time were the same as in part I & It .
Platelet count was done by Fonio Is method and the count of W. B.C., R. B. C. was done by Improved Neubauer¢¥s Counting Chamber.
The determination of prothrombin time was done by Quick¢¥s I stage method and thromboplastin generation test was done Biggs. Dougras and Mac Farlane¢¥s method.
The results were as follows,
1) Fat ingested induced regularly slight leucocytosis and no change in R. B ¡ÆC. and platelet.
2) The shortening of prothrombin time was observed in all cases.
3) The accelerating action of ingested fat on blood coagulation seems to be due to enhancement of the thromboplastin generation.
